Maris Eco Friends Beach Cleaning Project

Maris Eco Friends, in collaboration with Goldi Sands Hotel, and Arigatou International - SDGs Model classroom - Sarvodaya, launched a beach cleaning project on 12th March 2024 at Palangathure Beach. This initiative aims to preserve the natural beauty of the beach by organizing regular clean-up drives. Additionally, fish-shaped bins were installed to encourage proper disposal of waste, promoting environmental awareness and community involvement in keeping the beach clean and pristine.

Negombo Zonal Athletic Championship - 2023

Congratulations to our Maris athletes who have secured first place in the Negombo Zonal Athletic Championship with a 98-point lead! We would also like to Congratulate the other athletes who partook and delivered us great competition.

General Meeting of the Educational Media Unit - 2023

The Annual General Meeting of the Educational Media Unit of Maris Stella College, Negombo was held on the 17th of August 2023. The Senior Batch of 2022 - 2023 bade farewell and the new board of 2023 - 2024 officials were announced. The AGM was held at the School Main Hall and was graced by Rev. Bro. Principal along with the Masters In Charge, Deputy Principals,other staff members, parents and students.

Maris Stella College, Negombo was started in 1922 by the Marist Brothers of the Schools, a Catholic Religious Congregation founded in France in 1817. Rev. Bro. Lewis, a Frenchman, was the first Principal. He began the school with eight primary classes.

The College celebrates 100 years in 2022 with its Branch School developing fast in Thimbirigaskatuwa. Both schools serve about 5000 students presently. The College is indebted to parents and Past Pupils for their generous support to its management.
